Hello there,

Last week I spoke to someone facing a familiar wall:
She wanted her team to start using ChatGPT.

But the IT department said no.
And her CEO and CFO didn’t see the point.

This is more common than you think.

So we built a plan.

The “Speak Their Language” Playbook

Here’s the exact 5-step approach I shared with her. You can use it too. If you want your company to start taking AI seriously:

1. Define the Use Case
Don’t say “I want ChatGPT.”
Say: “I want to speed up this task by 40%.”
Show how many hours it saves.
Show the positive outcome and explain the benefits.

2. Translate into Value
Time = money.
Productivity = margin.
Use numbers. Management speaks numbers.
Then translate that into money ($$$ / €€€).

3. Show, Don’t Tell
Use your personal ChatGPT account.
Create a demo using dummy data.
Show what’s possible, don’t explain it.
Make sure to use AI for a visually appealing presentation.

4. Partner with IT
Don’t fight the rules: study them.
Ask yourself:
– What’s our current data security policy?
– What’s allowed right now?
Mention that OpenAI is SOC 2 compliant (study these reports).
Show you’ve done your homework.

5. Start Small
Suggest a pilot.
1–2 people.
1 laptop.
2 months.
Small scope, easy monitoring.
Build trust before you scale.

She now has a green light for a pilot.
And her managers are actually curious to learn more.

That’s the power of asking the right questions and speaking their language.

📩 What’s your #1 blocker to using AI at work?
Reply and let me know. I might feature your story next week (anonymously, of course).

 Until next week,
